Meeting & Workshop Information
NMGIC conducts two educational / general membership meetings each year. The Spring Meeting is generally vendor-oriented, and features numerous demonstrations and exhibits of state-of-the-art technology, plus presentations by industry experts. The Fall Meeting is typically devoted to the user community, with both GIS professionals and students alike presenting papers and poster sessions, usually centered around a "theme" or "hot topic".
NMGIC conducts and organizes various workshops on GIS, GPS, remote sensing & imaging, etc. The workshops are usually held in conjunction with the meetings, but can also occur independently.
Fees for Meetings & Workshops
Each of the two yearly meetings are free for NMGIC members, and are open to the general public. Non-members pay a $20.00 fee to attend (which includes a lunch and refreshments). Students who are not members pay at a reduced rate of $10.00 (and also receive a lunch, etc.).
There is no charge to NMGIC members for attending most workshops, although sometimes for highly-technical / hands-on workshops, a nominal fee is charged to recoup expenses. While NMGIC typically allows non-members to attend the free workshops, we encourage them to join NMGIC (helping to defray our expenses).
