PNM Awardees Honor NMGIC

PNM employees Larry Rose, Gathen Garcia, and Randy Duran, recent recipients of the 2010 PNM Robert M. Price Innovation Award, have honored NMGIC, Inc. with by choosing to direct the $1000.00 Award donation to the New Mexico Geographic Information Council, Inc. (NMGIC). Rose, Garcia and Duran used GIS in their award-winning project to track taxation status pertaining to PNM properties and utility easements.

Garcia (a former NMGIC Board member) and Rose (who is very active in the geospatial community) attended the June NM Geospatial Advisory Committee meeting, and announced their decision to honor NMGIC. They presented NMGIC Board members Jason Fink and Rick Koehler with the $1000 check. NMGIC deeply appreciates the donation, and will use the funds to further GIS education and professionalism in New Mexico.
